I would like to extend my thanks to the Gastro team, especially the nursing staff. Everyone treated me so kindly and I appreciate your patience with me, as I tend to ask a lot of questions about the “fine print” of things. I would especially like to thank the nurse who offered her food to me and was going to give me a ride home out in Amherst when I thought my ride left me. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give everyone a 10!
I had no insurance, and was so worried about not being able to pay for my 5-day hospital stay. In a conversation with Dr. Curtiss, I happened to compliment his shirt. Later, after I had woken up [from surgery], I woke to a surprise. Dr. Curtiss had literally given me the shirt off his back. I was in your office on Tuesday March 9, 2021 for some lab work, and I wanted to give kudos to the Lab Technician. I believe her last name was Jones. In my lifetime I have had blood draws many times by numerous phlebotomists. I am always told that my veins are deep and little and it is much harder to draw blood from than the average patient. As a result I have often been left with blown out veins, horrible painful bruises, and at the very least sore hands after they are forced to finally stick the veins in the back of my hands. Yesterday was the first time in my life that a vein was hit on the very first try!. Not only did Ms. Jones put me at ease over my veins, she was a consummate professional. I can’t even see where the needle went in! No pain, no bruising. She is an amazing professional. I appreciate the fact that in these trying times that being an essential employee can be stressful. So the fact that she was on point with her blood drawing skills and took the time to put me at ease was simply amazing. I just wanted to give credit where credit is due!

I had a colonoscopy during which Dr. Richards found a big polyp and advised me that it is more than likely cancer.
