What is an Endoscopy Center?
Endoscopy Centers are able to perform outpatient, or ambulatory, surgery center that serves patients needing endoscopic procedures.
An endoscopy procedure involves inserting a long, flexible tube (endoscope) down the throat and into the esophagus. A tiny camera on the end of the endoscope lets the doctor examine the esophagus, stomach, and the beginning of the small intestine (duodenum).

Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains the second most common cancer for both men and women in the United States, with nearly 150,000 cases diagnosed each year. Colorectal cancer is most common after age 45, but it can strike at younger ages. Learn more about our Colorectal Cancer Screening services.
What Is Colorectal Cancer Screening?
Colorectal cancer, or CRC, is a disease of the colon or rectum, which are parts of the digestive system. Unlike most cancers, colorectal cancer is often preventable with screening and highly treatable when detected early.
Most cases of colorectal cancer occur in people ages 45 and older, but the disease is increasingly affecting younger people. Each year, about 150,000 Americans are diagnosed with this disease, and more than 50,000 die.
Colorectal cancer may develop without symptoms. If you are 45 or older and at average risk, it’s time to get screened.

Colorectal Cancer Screening
Colorectal cancer screening is recommended for adults over 45 years of age, and earlier for people with certain risk factors. Consult with your health care provider to determine your risk and which type of screening would be best for you. Getting screened early is critical because colorectal tumors can spread quickly and are difficult to detect in their early stages. In the United States, there are over 1 million survivors of colorectal cancer.
Colorectal cancer (also referred to as colon cancer) is cancer that develops in the colon or the rectum. Colorectal cancer usually develops slowly over a period of many years and can be prevented if caught early. Regular screening can help prevent CRC through diagnosis at an early, curable stage or through the removal of precancerous polyps.

While colorectal cancer screening has many advantages, it should not be performed on a regular basis. A screening procedure can save your life. A steady decline in the incidence of colorectal cancer in older adults has occurred in the past decade. The reduction in smoking has also contributed to a decrease in colorectal cancer deaths. Unfortunately, the colorectal disease begins in precancerous growths, called polyps, and is only detectable through a screening procedure.
